Crime Stoppers returns more than $11 to Australia for every $1 invested
An independent economic and social impact report has found Crime Stoppers generates more than $216 million in annual economic and social value across Australia, delivering more than $11 in benefit for every $1 invested.
The report, independently prepared by Cube Group, highlights the significant contribution Crime Stoppers makes to community safety, crime prevention and law enforcement outcomes nationwide. The analysis found Crime Stoppers delivers value through its trusted anonymous reporting service and by encouraging safer behaviours through public awareness and crime prevention campaigns.
The findings come as Crime Stoppers Tasmania and Federal Group renew their partnership for a further three years, reinforcing a shared commitment to building safer communities across Tasmania.
Crime Stoppers Tasmania Chair David Daniels OAM said the report confirms the value created when communities are empowered to safely and anonymously share information.
“This report validates that when people speak up, the benefits extend far beyond a single report. Communities become safer, police receive critical information, crime is disrupted and significant economic and social value is created.”
Mr Daniels said the report demonstrates the unique role Crime Stoppers plays in connecting communities with law enforcement.
“Crime Stoppers is powered by the community. Every contact we receive starts with someone who sees something, hears something or knows something and decides to act.”
Mr Daniels said Federal Group’s support over more than three decades demonstrates the impact responsible corporate partnerships can have on community safety.
